On March 21, the Institution of the CIS countries hosted an organizational meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Second Sochi Forum Eurasian Integration. Konstantin Zatulin, the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots members of the Organizing Committee, Head of the Institute of CIS countries took part in the meeting together with members of the Organizing Committee: Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Bakhtiyor Khakimov, Director of the Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Luzyanin; Director of the Center for East Asia and the SCO Studies of MGIMO University Alexander Lukin; Professor Andranik Migranyan, MGIMO University (U); deputy director of the Institute of CIS countries Vladimir Evseev.

During the event, the participants discussed preparations for the forthcoming Second Sochi Forum on the theme "Prospects for the Development and Strengthening of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization". The Forum was organized by the Institute of CIS Countries with the support of the Presidential Grant Fund and PJSC Gazprom. The forum will be held at the Radisson Lazurnaya Hotel in Sochi on April 17-18, 2018. About 200 people, including foreign experts, politicians and public figures from 17 SCO member states, observer countries and SCO dialogue partners, will take part in it. , as well as countries involved in integration projects in the "Great Eurasia" space (Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and South Ossetia) and Russian participants from Moscow, Sochi and the Krasnodar area.

The Organizing Committee approved the program and the names of the Forum's working sections. Within two days, the plenary and sectional sessions will be held at the Radisson Lazurnaya venues on the following topics: "Great Eurasia", the world order, security and fight against terrorism, the SCO and the economic and integration processes in Eurasia, economics, energy, transport and migration; Interaction of cultures and religions,ecology and preservation of the environment,education and science.
