Sochi International Forum of the SCO calls for the cooperation of the peoples and the countries of Eurasia« Back
The participants of the International Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the final declaration of the two-day meeting in Sochi declared their support for the development of multilateral cooperation among peoples and states in Eurasia.
“Such cooperation can and should be aimed at peaceful coexistence, economic growth, preservation of traditional cultures and respect for freedom of religion’, - the document says.
Participants in the forum pointed out the indicative in this respect of a positive example showed by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization created 15 years ago, the organization started its expansion past year, stressing the need for involvement of civil societies concerned communities in a dialogue in order to ensure the transparency and depth of the integration process, removal of barriers and misunderstandings during its implementation.
“The experience of the SCO confirms that the problems related to security in Eurasia are the problems cannot be solved alone but solved by a wide international community, represented on the Sochi Forum”, - stated in the declaration.
The countries-participants of the Forum noted that the “Shanghai Spirit” - trust, mutually beneficial cooperation, non-violence, humanitarian and economic cooperation of all peoples and nations can be and should be distributed in the language of the public diplomacy, on which the deep and fruitful relationship is formed.
“Welcoming the initiative of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on the convening of the International Forum in Sochi, we declare readiness to put efforts in their own countries to explain the goals, objectives and SCO prospects, the development of contacts between the civil societies and the continuation of a fruitful discussion on the future of Eurasia, which began in such a wide international format for the first time at the Sochi forum ", - is said in a declaration.
The forum participants support the idea of regular meetings between the supporters of the SCO Eurasian integration and development in Sochi, hereinafter referred to as “the Sochi initiative” and announce the Sochi forum as a permanent public organization of international dialogue.
The International Forum of the SCO in Sochi on April 20-21 was attended by representatives of civil society from 26 countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.
Now the six countries are included in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization: Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In 2015, a decision was made on the admission of Pakistan and India.
