An annual conference of the Asian Forum was opened in the Boao town of Hainan Island (PRC). The Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Aziz Nosirov, takes part in its work. Within the framework of the forum, a round table was held with the participation of heads of regional organizations of the Asian continent on the topic: "Globalization and Asian Regional Cooperation".

In his speech, Nosirov informed the participants of the round table on the main results of the Tashkent Jubilee Summit of the SCO (June 2016) and the Bishkek meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the SCO member states (December 2016). He noted that "the SCO considers it important to continue broad international cooperation in order to give additional impetus to the restoration of the world economy, ensuring economic and financial stability, supporting sustainable, dynamic, balanced and inclusive growth". As an example of the practical interaction of the SCO on the economic track, Nosirov called the intergovernmental agreement on the creation of favorable conditions for international road transport, signed by member states in 2014 in Dushanbe, developed with the assistance of UNESCAP. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that the Agreement is open for accession by any state wishing to be connected to its implementation.

At the roundtable, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of regional cooperation, during which participants were provided with information on the planned activities of the SCO in 2017. In particular, Nosirov noted that in 2017 the SCO widely celebrates the 15th anniversary of its charter document - the Charter, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Treaty on Long-Term Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation. The central event will be a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, which will be held in June in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Astana. It is expected that for India and Pakistan the main event will be the acceptance of these states in the SCO as full members.

Nosirov invited the participants of the "round table" to visit the SCO Pavilion at the international exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, the opening of which is planned after the SCO summit.

The "round table" was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Liu Zhenmin, ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh, Executive Director of the Secretariat on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia Gun Tszyanvey, the Secretariat of the Secretary-General on cooperation, "China-Japan-Korea» Yang Houlan, Secretary General of the Provisional secretariat of the Dialogue on cooperation in Asia Bundi Limchun, Secretary General of the "ASEAN-China" Center Syuypin Yang, Director of macroeconomic research Institute of the countries of "A EAN + 3" (AMRO) Chan Junhong, assistant professor at Goa University Dattesh Paroukar, director of the Institute for Asia-Pacific Studies of the Academy of International Affairs of China Liu Qing, executive director of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Atul Dalakota.
