SCO Secretary General took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum« Back
Speaking on June 6 at the panel session "SCO Without Borders: Integration of Transport Infrastructure" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov noted that the regulatory framework created in the Organization allows creating wide opportunities for building an efficient transport and communication infrastructure in the space of Eurasia.
According to him, the conjugation of the Chinese initiative “Belts and Ways” with the projects of the EAEU significantly expands the potential for the development of transport and communication links in the SCO space. New opportunities for Eurasian transport links opens up further development of the Northern Sea Route with the prospect of connecting it with the “Sea Silk Road” project.
Among the promising areas of cooperation, Norov referred to the digitization of the transport infrastructure of the SCO countries, stressing the importance of systemic research into the development of transport infrastructure in the SCO area.
