SCO Center for Public Diplomacy opens in Tashkent« Back
The event to mark the opening of the Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan will be held on January 29 of this year. This was announced today by the director of the center, senator of the Uzbek parliament Rakhmatulla Nazarov.
According to him, the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy contributes to the strengthening of mutual trust and good neighborliness, interethnic and interfaith harmony, and the development of intercivilizational dialogue among the SCO countries.
"The priority directions of the Center will be creating conditions for establishing a friendly atmosphere of interaction between civil society institutions, including youth and women’s organizations, and expanding cultural and humanitarian ties with the SCO countries," the Uzbek senator said.
The center was established in accordance with the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures for state support for the creation of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan” in June 2018.
