SCO and OSCE discussed measures to strengthen regional stability 18.03.2019 09:09

On March 14, on the margins of the ministerial segment of the 62nd session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs at the headquarters of the UN Vienna Office, the Secretary General of the SCO, Vladimir Norov, met with OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger.

According to Norov, the SCO and the OSCE have similar tasks and goals - they oppose terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime, observe presidential and parliamentary elections.

SCO representatives participate in a number of OSCE events, which indicates the parties' intention to work together in the area of ​​ensuring stability and security in the Eurasian region. The possibility of interaction in the field of cyber security is considered by the Regional Antiterrorist Structure of the SCO and the OSCE.

Given the common challenges and threats in the vast Eurasian space, the OSCE is interested in strengthening cooperation with the SCO in the fight against international terrorism, drug trafficking, cross-border crime, Greminger stressed.
