Russia will support Mongolia if it decides to become a full member of the SCO« Back
According to Russian Deputy foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, the feasibility of obtaining full membership in the SCO is being actively discussed in Mongolia. This decision has both supporters and opponents.
At the same time, Moscow will support Ulaanbaatar if it decides to become a full member of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO), TASS reports.
The senior diplomat explained that he does not intend to influence the choice of his Mongolian friends, because this is their sovereign right.
However, all other SCO participants will be happy to see Mongolia as a part of the big SCO family, Morgulov concluded.
Currently, Mongolia is an observer state in the SCO.
The second virtual conference on the Mongolia-China cooperation mechanism in response to the coronavirus pandemic was held.
The conference, which was led by the Department of neighboring countries of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of China, was attended by representatives of border, customs, specialized inspections, trade and transport, as well as employees of embassies in the two countries.
The parties will continue economic cooperation, especially in the field of transportation of goods and people, subject to restrictions. They agreed on a temporary "Green gate" procedure that allows people with reasonable pretexts and foreign experts to enter the country on the background of COVID-19 to participate in bilateral projects in the field of trade, logistics, production, service and development.
