According to Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Support of the Russian Chairmanship of the SCO in 2019–2020 and the BRICS Association in 2020, more than 25 have been successfully organized and held since June 2019 as part of the Russian Chairmanship in the SCO and the BRICS Association events, reports "Komsomolskaya Pravda".

Chairmanship events also take place outside of Russia, particularly in the United States and Saudi Arabia. Everything is implemented in the normal mode and within the framework of the approved schedule.

The Chairmanship Organizing Committee closely monitors the spread of the coronavirus. In this regard, comprehensive solutions are provided that allow conducting all expert events at the highest level with absolute security for delegates and guests from all countries participating in the SCO and BRICS, Kobyakov pointed out.

Until the end of this year, about 200 more events are planned in 13 cities of Russia, including St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk and Moscow. The SCO and BRICS summits are scheduled for July 21-23, 2020 in St. Petersburg.
