Integration of Integrations: Russia has offered to create a partnership EAEC, SCO, ASEAN« Back
Russia does not exclude the possibility of establishing a tripartite Economic Partnership EAEC - - SCO - ASEAN. This statement was made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, reports “Interfax”.
The politician stressed that the idea of linking the integration process is quite logical - it would be “a kind of integration of integrations”.
“It is no accident the SCO Secretary General was invited to the Russian-ASEAN summit to participate in activities directly “on the field” of the meeting", - said Morgulov.
According to the diplomat, the interest in creating a free trade zone with the EAEC already expressed Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia.
“There are prospects for the liberalization of trade relations between the EAEC and ASEAN”, - said Morgulov.
Recall, Russia-ASEAN summit started in Sochi on Thursday, May 19. It is expected that within Forum Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with the heads of Myanmar and Indonesia, the Prime Ministers of Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and Laos.
It is worth noting that many experts have suggested that the summit demonstrates the strategic turn of Russia to the East, however, press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov has denied the allegations.
The politician stressed that Russia is a unique country because of the geopolitical situation and cannot “turn only in one direction” - Moscow hopes to develop relations with all states.
