From January 1, the chairmanship in the CIS passes to Uzbekistan« Back
According to the decision of the Ashgabat CIS summit, from January 1 to December 31, 2020, the chairmanship in the Commonwealth passes to Uzbekistan.
Tashkent will simultaneously preside over the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Heads of State, the Council of Heads of Government, the Economic Council, the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the participating States under the statutory and other organs of the Commonwealth, and the Commission on Economic Affairs at the Economic Council.
As part of the chairmanship, about 70 events of various levels and formats will be held. It is also planned to adopt more than 10 conceptual documents aimed at developing multilateral cooperation.
