Final Document of the International Forum in Sochi« Back
At the initiative of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Institute of CIS Countries the International Forum "On the second track. The role of civil society and public diplomacy in the further development and expansion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" was held in Sochi on 19 - 20 of April which was attended by 327 participants from 26 countries.
The working group of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on the Eurasian integration and support of SCO discussed the detailed results of the Forum and other issues of Eurasian integration on June 24 at the round table "Actual problems of expansion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization." The need for a public debate was due to the presence of challenges and threats in the "Big Eurasia", the formation of which proclaimed the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The round table was held during the SCO summit in Tashkent.
Following the meeting of the Working Group the draft Final document of the International Forum in Sochi was adopted as a basis. Within a month the project was to be confirmed and on July 28, 2016 it was unanimously approved.
Note that on the recommendation of representatives of the Sochi International Forum, it was given the permanent nature and the name "Sochi forum Eurasian Integration".
